Shenanigans with the Sister

Today I spent all morning helping at the holiday club that my church is running this week. The morning went well, but I nevertheless came home feeling rather tired. Such events usually make me feel old! Kids – particularly kids gathered together in large groups like that – just have so much energy! So I came home, had some lunch and was planning to take a nap… but then my sister showed up. With her violin. So this happened instead:

You probably can’t tell from this picture, but my sister is using the metronome on the top of my piano as her music stand. And I, being three inches shorter than her (and also not wishing to be stabbed with her bow), am standing on the couch in order to read the music over her shoulder. Apparently Mum found this humorous enough to go and dig out her camera. You’d think she’d be used to our unorthodox ways by now!

Anyway, we had fun and I thought we sounded *mostly* pretty good, if I do say so myself. That is, pretty good considering the fact that the little sis has only been playing violin for a couple of months and that I taught myself clarinet after printing a fingering chart off the internet… :-)
